Life is full of crossroads.
Atyeb Ba Atum Re (formerly known as the artist Ayaba wife-uvh-tha-king) has been writing and performing spoken word/poetry since childhood.
She grew up during the days of segregation and the civil rights movement;and the beginning of integration. She knows
and remembers what it feels like to have cruel and harsh racial terms hurled at her.
The influences that inspire her spoken word/poetic utterances are vast.

Constantly perplexed by the Race Issues of her own generation, Atyeb Ba Atum Re prayed to her ancestors to come and give her peace with these issues.
A passionate lover of Cultural Histories, she has never been a stranger to World Histories and Kemetic Studies.
She was initiated in Oklahoma City, OK., as a Fahamme Priestess (where she also obtained the title as Paut [Poetry]Priestess). Later on she decided to obtain a different perspective of the Kemetic concepts of God culturally and after a Yoruba reading, she was told to travel to Abeokuta (Nigeria), to undergo an initiation into the Yoruba Culture and become a priestess in that culture as well.
Upon her return to the U.S. she was compelled to read every book that J.A. Rogers had ever written that was still in print on the subject matter of Race and Race Mixing. The end results of Atyeb Ba Atum Re's   in-depth studies
enabled her to gain a greater sense of peace surrounding the racial issues so deeply ingrained into the psyche of humanity.

Thus, the utterances of Sex and Race were bestowed upon her and the responsibility to get it heard by the masses for their own individual and collective considerations to heal that which surely still haunts humanity is an ongoing process for Atyeb Ba Atum Re.
