People say

We rule Earth

Kings, Queens

Speaking titan-like

Just because we create Life

We command it

Claiming eminent domain

Treating dirt like possessive property

Just because we built civilizations

Standing proudly

On dirt

We didn’t create

Mankind

… Picture this,

Mighty gods

We are mere ants

Living, roaming on Nature’s forest floor

Building urban colonies

Doing nothing more than shifting dirt

Already here before we arrived

Living in civilized colonies

Yet still battling each other

Based on color, location, need for more land

Battling like army ants versus fire ants

Always hating each other

Still needing to live, coexist in same habitat

As we so live like the ants

Still fighting over Earth

Wonder what Nature’s creator

Must be thinking

“Look at those ants move

…Trying to be gods”
